    FVB mice
    Derived from Swiss mice of the remote cross series. In 1935, bred at NIH and in 1966, one strain HSFS/N was found to be sensitive to histamine after being vaccinated with pertussis vaccine. In the early 1970s, FVB was discovered in the eighth generation of HSFS/N strain, some of which carried the Fv1b gene and were sensitive to B-strain Friend leukemia virus. In 2017, Spf (Beijing) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. introduced and bred FVB from the National Rodent Laboratory Animal Seed Center.
    Features:

    Strong reproductive ability, large litter size, fertilized eggs have large and significant pronuclei, easy for microinjection of DNA.

    Easily produce IgE in response to antigen stimulation, highly reactive to insulin-induced hypoglycemia.

    FVB mice with Pde6brd1 homozygous alleles have early-onset retinal degeneration and are prone to high fever under stress.

    Applications

    Mainly used for transgenic experiments, genetic research, and sensory nerve research (retinal degeneration).
